The Summer

In July we were able to take a wonderful trip home to Idaho. Josh had a short 6 week break from school, and I convinced my boss to let me have a couple days off work. Josh headed home and I shortly followed. I got to spend a little time with both my family and his before heading back.

Things I loved about being home:
* Family
* Temperatures in the 70’s-80’s
* Cool breezes
* Being able to open the windows at night.
* The mountains
* The smell of farms
* Rivers that aren’t brown
* No tornado’s! LOL

I was able to spend Wed afternoon through Friday with my family in Teton Valley. We spend a lot of time at the house with Mom, since she doesn’t like to go anywhere. We did get to go out to eat with her though which she really enjoys. Friday night Josh and I went with Susan & Mandy and Josh’s whole family to the Bar J Wranglers in Jackson Hole, WY. It was a great show and we had a good time.

Saturday morning Josh and I were up early to head out to Preston for his 10 year class reunion. It was nice seeing some people I haven’t seen for a long time, and even nicer for Josh. We also had a couple of family gatherings with his families this weekend so we got to see a lot of people. We also hit up the famous Preston Night Rodeo.

I headed back to normal life in Missouri on Monday. Josh was able to stay for a couple more weeks and spend time with his family. Landon and Molly were in the middle of moving from Las Vegas to Wichita KS via Idaho following his job with the air force. Josh and their mom drove with them to Kansas and helped them find a place to live. We are so excited to have them so close to us.

Josh has had a few opportunities to play rugby again. He really loves the game.

We spent a weekend in St Louis for some weddings.

I also had the opportunity to go back to CVC for work this year. CVC is the Central Veterinary Conference in Kansas City. I got to learn and have fun, and get some free stuff from vendors. I’m thankful for a boss who feels I’m valuable enough to send to things like this. Had a free Josh Turner concert there that Josh was able to drive over for too.

College Football season has begun. Josh got us season tickets for the Mizzou home games. Last weekend was the first.

It was a very hot day. We tailgated before and after, and some fun and good food.

Josh has started back to school. On Oct 16th he will be out of the classroom and starting clinics! I’m excited for him even though I’m sure I will be seeing a lot less of him.

We’re loving the cooler fall weather. No more 90+ degrees 24 hours a day. We’re enjoying 24 hours of 70’s!  The gardens still sharing some food with us (what’s left after the darn deer attack anyway).  I think the black plastic is a winner in the garden…stuff is doing better this year-everything but the weeds anyway!
