I don’t write on here too much, but time seems to be just flying by. There’s not usually too much worth writing about-we just go day to day down the path of life.
Since we are finally seeing some nice weather we’ve managed to enjoy a rodeo, planting some more in the garden, and being super hot and sweaty. I wanted to put seeds and the rest of the plants in the garden a month ago but the rain just wouldn’t let up. The things I did manage to get out there between storms survived for the most part and are thriving. The rest was sitting on my deck feeling choked in their little pots-or were still in the seed packets. Yesterday Josh helped me and we were finally able to get it all out there. The tomatoes, Cucumbers, and squash that i had already planted have recovered the shock of the storms and are looking good and growing fast. I hope the rest of the tomatoes, and the peppers soon catch up. I also planted some onions, carrots, beans, and peas.
A week ago tomorrow I discovered a tiny pea sized lump on sassy’s head. I barely saw it as it is almost an extension of the edge of her ear. I tried to convince myself it wasn’t really there, but I took her to work with me anyway to have it checked. I assumed I was just wasting my money and our time, but upon further examination it is the worst. The same cancer that plagued her in 2008 has returned. We did some further testing and didn’t find any more on her. Her radiographs looked good-which means that we should continue onto surgery. Her lymph node biopsy was inconclusive so we are trying that again tomorrow-to be sure it hasn’t spread there. Surgery is tentatively scheduled for Tues or if not then on Thursday. It is a very small tumor right now, but we need a good wide margin-and her ear is in the way. I’m afraid she might come out of surgery missing a chunk. She will be looking a little silly with a shaved head too! I plan to have the tumor checked to see how severe it is-and those results will tell us where we go from here. As I understand it, the outcome is: a) it’s a low grade and if the margins were good that should be it. b) it’s a medium grade (what she had before) and chemo and further treatment is recommended. c) it’s the highest grade-which further treatment might not buy her any time.
So we will continue our testing, do her surgery, wait for results, and see what’s next. Keep your fingers crossed for her. She seems to be feeling and looking great, and her spirits are as happy as ever. We will do what we can for her.

Poor Sassy! Good luck, I hope the prognosis is a good one.
